Mánes Bridge is a unique example of early 20th-century Prague architecture. The concrete structure, incorporating elements of Czech Cubism, connects Malá Strana with Staré Město while offering striking views of Prague Castle and the Vltava. The reliefs inspired by the lives of Vltava raftsmen, the fountains with their gargoyles and numerous artistic details created by leading Czech artists of the period are all also worthy of attention. The four-arch bridge, designed by František Mencl, Alois Nový and Mečislav Petrů, replaced the former Rudolf Footbridge and today carries trams, road traffic and pedestrians.
