Mozart’s Affair of the Heart

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart loved Prague so much it became inseparable part in history of his Don Giovanni, and The Marriage of Figaro operas. He initially visited the Czech capital at the age of 31 and would later put it among the happiest times of his life.

Depicted in the book are places he had frequented such as The Estates Theatre, Bertramka, Clementinum, Uhelný Trh or St Nicholas Church where a memorial service was carried out after his death. “My Praguers understand me,” Mozart famously said. This comic book may tell you why.

Created by an acclaimed Czech illustrator Štěpán Mareš exclusively for the City of Prague.
