overview opening hours admission programme Villa Winternitz in Smíchov bears the name of lawyer Josef Winternitz, who commissioned it for his family in 1932 based on a design by Adolf Loos and Karel Lhota. Villa Winternitz is the last building by Adolf Loos completed during his lifetime. Like the Müller Villa, it showcases his distinctive concept of spatial planning known as the Raumplan. In 1941, the family was forced to leave the villa for racial reasons and never returned. Following restitution, the descendants of the original owners succeeded in restoring the villa to its original appearance. A printed guide is available in Czech, English, German, French and Hebrew. Admission also includes access to the current exhibitions. Guided tours Guided tours take place on Saturdays and Sundays, while evening guided tours are available on weekdays. Saturday and evening tours include a complimentary glass of prosecco to help recreate the atmosphere of the 1930s. Tour dates and tickets are available through the GoOut ticketing portal. The tour lasts approximately 1.5 hours and is conducted in Czech.
