The Festival of Digital and Creative Culture is the largest cultural event in the Czech Republic, connecting modern art and new technologies with both the general public and experts. Over the course of four evenings, Prague’s streets and public spaces—from its most famous historical landmarks to its lesser-known corners—will be transformed by leading Czech and international lighting designers into artistic installations and spaces that capture the various faces of both contemporary and historical Prague through unconventional forms. The festival transforms building facades and nighttime streets into open-air projection screens. In addition to free outdoor installations, the festival will also feature the paid Signal INSIDE zone, which will showcase a curated selection of works displayed indoors. The first artist announced for this year’s festival is Milan Cais, an artist and musician who is returning to the Signal Festival after thirteen years. This time, he will present the audiovisual installation The Gate of Imagination. Signal INSIDE is the ticketed section of the Signal Festival, featuring eight unique installations by Czech and international artists in unconventional interiors in the center of Prague. Laterna magika: Water This site-specific multimedia production combines nonverbal theater, video mapping, acrobatics, and live singing. The theme is water as a source of life, memory, and human transformation. Laurie Anderson & Hsin-Chien Huang: To the Moon | X10 Theater An immersive audiovisual journey inspired by mythology, science, and science fiction, created to mark the anniversary of the first human landing on the Moon. Ján Šicko: Sound Robot | Hybernská Campus An interactive installation for children and adults that combines robotics, digital sounds, wooden toys, and folk musical instruments.
