This year’s Pumpkin Exhibition takes inspiration from the prehistoric world. Imaginative pumpkin displays and sculptures will take you through different periods of the distant past – from dinosaurs and prehistoric insects to mammoths and the first humans. Colourful autumn displays create a wonderful backdrop for exploring and taking photographs, while interactive activities will offer something for visitors of all ages. The pumpkin displays are being created by students from the Czech Garden Academy in Mělník, working under the guidance of Petra Křížová, together with our gardeners. The exhibition will also include a pumpkin stall and a programme of activities for families. This year, we have expanded our creative workshops to include weekdays. From Friday 9 to Sunday 11 October and from Thursday 15 to Sunday 18 October, visitors can get creative with a range of seasonal activities. From 22 to 25 October, it’s time for pumpkin carving, while from 28 October to 1 November you can make your own autumn lanterns. The workshops take place in the multifunctional area inside a spacious heated marquee, so you can get creative whatever the autumn weather. The exhibition will culminate on 31 October with our Halloween celebration, featuring an afternoon programme of activities and competitions, followed by an evening lantern parade through the garden. date and time Mon—Sun 9:00—19:00
