Prague — various places

The Prague German Language Theater Festival is an annual prestigious showcase of the most notable theater productions from across the German-speaking world, including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and Liechtenstein.

30th edition

The main program is accompanied by exhibitions, video installations, popular theater trips, expert lectures, and smaller Czechia-German projects.

All performances are interpreted through subtitles or headphones, making the festival productions accessible to viewers who do not speak German (Czech productions are interpreted into German). The program is very diverse and offers something for all social classes and age groups.

Advance ticket sales will begin at the end of October/beginning of November.

The festival was founded in 1996 by writer and playwright Pavel Kohout, originally as the German Theater in Prague.
