In the pre-Advent season, the Open House Day at Prague Castle will once again provide a unique opportunity to explore areas that are normally closed to the public for most of the year. On Saturday, 28 November, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., visitors will enjoy free access to the festively decorated state rooms where the President of the Republic receives foreign dignitaries and hosts key political meetings. Visitors will have the chance to tour, among other highlights, Plečnik’s Column Hall, the Rothmayer Hall, the Spanish Hall, the Rudolf Gallery, and the Mirror Salon. The special day will also include free admission to Prague Castle’s visitor attractions, as well as to the current exhibitions Eva Eisler: Circle of Silence and Design for Václav Havel. The South Gardens will also be exceptionally opened, offering beautiful views of Prague’s historic city centre. The tour route will lead from the ceremonial Matthias Gate through Plečnik’s Column Hall, Rothmayer’s Hall and the Spanish Hall, Rudolf’s Gallery and the Throne Room to the Habsburg and Mirror Salons. Additionaly to the state rooms, you will also be able to visit permanet exhibitions, free of charge, including St. Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, St. George’s Basilica, and Golden Lane. More
