Paradise Birds is the culmination of a two-year collaboration between the creators, focused on reflecting and stimulating dialogue on how the concept of femininity has been historically shaped. It offers a poetic alternative where multiple truths and perspectives can coexist. The core of the work consists of Clara’s and Yana’s original solos and a joint duet, which was primarily performed outdoors under the title Womanhood.

Instead of the traditional depiction of Lilith and Eve as opposing figures, they are approached as symbols of female strength, choice, and transformation. This raises questions and challenges narratives in which women are either obedient or dangerous. The performance celebrates complexity, strength, and inner freedom — rather than submission and fear. At the heart of the project is a return to the power of ritual as an eternal and transformative tool for experiencing female identity, self-discovery, and even initiation.
