On November 5, Klang Systematiek will present an evening at the Church of Our Lady of the Snows dedicated to two very different approaches to working with sound. In Stockhausen’s Mikrophonie I, six performers explore the sonic possibilities of a single large tam-tam: they strike its surface in various ways, while microphones and electronics reveal and transform even the finest sonic details. The program will be complemented by Arktik by Norwegian composer Terje Rypdal. The monumental space and acoustics of the Church of Our Lady of the Snows will become a natural part of the concert, whose common theme is the question of what can be considered a musical instrument. The concert is part of the Klang Systematiek: Autumn 2026 series. The discounted Autumn Pass allows you to attend all three fall concerts. More
