The February concert of the Prague Philharmonia Chamber Series will bring together the music of three leading figures of Central European musical culture. In the atmospheric Baroque refectory of the Profesní dům, works by Leoš Janáček, Josef Bohuslav Foerster and Gustav Mahler will be performed in an unusual setting for four violins by leading female members of the orchestra. The programme offers an intimate perspective on composers connected by their era, mutual respect and personal ties, while highlighting the richness of Czech and Central European musical tradition at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. programme Georg Philipp Telemann — Concerto in G major for Four Violins, TWV 40:201 Leoš Janáček — Sonnets for Four Violins (Sonnet No. 1, Sonnet No. 2) Josef Bohuslav Foerster — Little Suite for Three Violins Gustav Mahler — Adagietto from Symphony No. 5 arranged for four violins (arr.
