Alternativa

Alternativa 2026 invites audiences to the 34th edition of the international festival of experimental and unconventional music, taking place over two autumn weekends, from 30 to 31 October and 13 to 14 November, at several venues across Prague. The programme will showcase bold approaches to sound across genres, generations and continents, featuring leading figures of the contemporary music scene alongside unique projects at the intersection of improvisation, electronics and sound art. Rare returns will also be part of the line-up, including a performance by American musician Grouper. One of Prague’s longest-running music festivals, Alternativa has been offering an adventurous alternative to mainstream programming since the early 1990s. This year’s concerts will take place at venues including the Church of St Simon and St Jude, ARCHA+, and Petrohradská.
