For our first joint exhibition project, we chose this passion-inducing phenomenon—love—as a way of developing Artium's 2026 curatorial theme: Responsibility. After all manner of adventures on our journey through the cosmos, and countless accidental collisions with celestial bodies and strange life forms, it has become abundantly clear to us that responsibility is an extraordinarily, immensely, supremely important force in preserving and nurturing love. Responsibility towards another person is responsibility towards oneself. This is an axiom of human relationships. Every individual has a duty to care for their own mental well-being, especially if they wish to take part in another person's journey and development, as well as that of a wider community. Or, as the old saying goes: "As you call into the cosmic void, so the cosmic void calls back." Rather than treating love merely as a motif for our works, we have approached it as a broader conceptual framework that maps the processes experienced by people suffering from the condition of mutual love. We follow the winding paths of two autonomous individuals whose trajectories intersect at a particular moment. This collision irrevocably shapes their—and our—future development, wherever that journey may lead. The artworks serve as illustrations of selected moments within this rare social interaction, forming the structural framework of the exhibition as a whole.
