    Do you want to hear stories from the remote past, as well as the more recent history of Prague’s Jews? Join us for a mysterious tour of the lesser-known Jewish cemetery in Žižkov. By flashlight, after dark, we will recall the eventful history of the former plague cemetery and examine the symbols on the preserved tombstones. We will learn how tombstones were treated during communism and reveal details from the lives of the Jewish families buried here. Due attention will also be given to the transformation of part of the cemetery into a park and the subsequent construction of a television transmitter, which cut off another part of it.

    Before you go on the tour:

    • Duration: 2 hours
    • Meeting point: in front of the entrance to the Old Jewish Cemetery (Fibichova 2818/2a, Prague 3)
    • Please note: The route is suitable in any weather, as well as after dark. The tour includes the entrance fee to the Jewish cemetery in the Mahler Gardens. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our Guides&Tours team at +420 778 543 671 or email guides@prague.eu.
    • This tour is not available on Friday and Saturday because of the Jewish celebration Shabbat.
