Skanzen Solvayovy Lomy

The limestone mining museum in the Bohemian Karst near Svatý Jan pod Skalou offers an example of a narrow-gauge quarry railway, an interior and underground mining exhibition, demonstration of old quarrying techniques and other interesting attractions. The opening and closing of the tourist season is always a major event, with a traditional parade of all the quarry machines. Throughout the year, themed events such as “Night with Bats” or “Rotating Flywheels” are held here. The museum of limestone quarrying and the narrow-gauge railway used for its extraction can be visited from spring to autumn.
