overview opening hours admission The museum is focused on the history of coal mining in Kladno and it is the only accessible mine in the entire Kladno-Rakovník coal basin. Mining has been ongoing here for more than 200 years. The open-air museum was established on the mine site in 1994 and is accessible with guides, many of whom are former mine workers. The tour is modelled on the last day of work. A demonstration of coal mining techniques is provided by a simulated mining workplace created in the Homole adit. There are models of mining works, lamps and mineralogical findings. There is also a small display of measuring and rescue equipment. During the year, the open-air museum organises exhibitions, educational and cultural events. opening hours april—october mon—sun 9:00—17:00 november—march mon—sun 9:00—15:00 more about opening hours admission There are two tours on offer → full price list. more about admission admission There are two tours on offer → full price list. opening hours april—october mon—sun 9:00—17:00 november—march mon—sun 9:00—15:00
