The compound of the former Waldes & Co. factory — KOH-I-NOOR is located between Vršovická, Moskevská, Kavkazská and Altajská streets. This enterprise, founded by Jindřich Waldes, produced patented and industrial goods from 1902. At present, a haberdashery company is based at this address. The most important preserved parts of the factory complex are buildings No. 629, the building on the corner of Vršovická and Altajská Street and part of the original fence along Vršovická Street. The architectural style and preservation of these buildings illustrate the development of industrial architecture of the time and the significance of the plant itself, which was among important not just in Bohemia. It is a valuable architectural, urban planning and historical testament to the evolution of industrial architecture in the early 20th century and the development of the world-famous Koh-i-noor industrial plant in Vršovice.
