The legendary Prague cinema is located on the ground floor of a functionalist building designed by students of Josef Gočár — František Stalmach and Jan Svoboda, with extensive original interior elements made of marble. The cinema is just a few steps away from Florence and Masaryk train stations. It is operated by a group of filmmakers and producers as a cultural space with two cinema halls that can accommodate up to 200 viewers. The Karel Vachek Gallery hosts the complete artistic work of this filmmaker and educator, and the newly opened Atlas of Plants Café hosts concerts, discussions, and author readings. The cinema's art program is complemented by debates with filmmakers, programs for seniors and students, and weekend events for children.
