Akademie věd ČR - Galerie Věda a umění

The neo-Renaissance banking palace was built in the second half of the 19th century by one of the first savings banks in Bohemia - Česká spořitelna (Czech Savings Bank). Today the building is the seat of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. The Gallery of Science and Art is a place where science meets art in line with the traditions of the Czech Academy of Sciences and Arts, founded in 1890 thanks to the support of the Czech architect and builder Josef Hlávka. Visitors to this gallery have a unique opportunity to get to know not only the individual components of art but also to penetrate the secrets of science through popular educational exhibitions and works of art.
