A photograph of a moss capsule, which resembles a predator when magnified, dominated this year's Photogenic Science competition. The winning image, titled Anglermoss, shows that research reveals new knowledge and aesthetic beauty hidden from the human eye. The Photogenic Science exhibition at the Science and Art Gallery on Národní třída in Prague presents forty selected photographs capturing the beauty of science. Research can be a source not only of new knowledge, but also of visual beauty. This is confirmed by the images that competed in the Photogenic Science competition, which the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic announces annually for its employees. This year, the twelfth edition, a total of 238 photographs were collected from 81 competitors from 26 workplaces. Admission to the exhibition is free.
