Šárka Růžičková Zadáková's paintings have had distinctive autobiographical features since her student days. Looking through her paintings is like leafing through a monumental, unabashedly personal diary. It is essentially a long-term personal concept, although the painter herself would probably not consider herself a conceptualist. Her paintings do not correspond to the prevailing (and misleading) idea of two crossed sticks or an incomprehensible intellectual output without additional explanation. Her long-term concept is naturally self-evident, with the pages of that imaginary diary corresponding to autonomous, purely painterly images. Careful preparation, a thoroughly thought-out process, notes in words and sketches. Narrative and the figure associated with it. Subjective perspective. Dreamlike haziness hand in hand with the typical expressive deformation of the figure. Realistic details of the environment. Picture within a picture, still life. Reason and emotion.
