William James Basie, known worldwide as Count Basie, was a legendary American jazz pianist, organist, composer, and bandleader. He was one of the most important musicians of the swing era, who made the genre popular. His orchestra defined the sound of the big band and became synonymous with swing elegance, precision, and joy of rhythm. It was active for more than fifty years and even survived during the decline of big bands after World War II. Basie left an indelible musical legacy and rightfully has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Under the baton of the brilliant conductor Chris Egan, The Loop Jazz Orchestra will perform Basie’s best works, paying tribute to the “King of Swing”. performers The Loop Jazz Orchestra Chris Egan conductor More all events festivals Prague Proms 19. 6. 2026 — 22. 9. 2026, 19:00
