Piano Day, also known as the International Day of the Piano, is a global event celebrating piano playing, founded a few years ago by a group of artists and producers led by musician Nils Frahm. This year we will celebrate it together on March 28 in the beautiful spaces of the Mirror Chapel of the Prague Klementinum. Prague thus joins several other world metropolises. Line Up: 19:30 Mazoch & Libánský 20:45 Otto A. Totland performers Otto A Totland (nor) Otto A. Totland began making music on a computer but soon switched to the piano. He remained self-taught, which is reflected in his distinctive playing and compositional style. He draws inspiration from Norwegian folk music, Romantic composers, and Scandinavian jazz. His minimalist, melancholic, and meditative compositions can transport listeners from the cacophony of the modern world to the calm of a secluded cabin in the Norwegian countryside. Totland first gained recognition as a member of the duo Deaf Center, which he formed with Erik Skodvin (aka Svarte Greiner). Totland’s introspective piano is complemented there by the dark electronic textures of his collaborator. In 2025, the duo released their comeback album Reverie. Totland has also worked as one half of the project Nest, and his solo work is primarily built around the deeply personal trilogy of albums Pinô, The Lost, and Companion, released on the Sonic Pieces label. His latest recording, Exin (2024), created under the supervision of Nils Frahm at the Funkhaus studio in Berlin, presents a new direction and a collection of musical miniatures. Mazoch & Líbánský (cz) Petr Mazoch and Jiří Libánský are united by piano, imagination, and a desire to let music speak freely. Within the walls of Prague apartments, they explore the boundaries of genres and their collaboration by feel. Petr Mazoch is known for his introspective solo work and is also a member of the newly formed project Yezerā (together with Arash Ghasemi), while Jiří collaborates with a range of Czech artists (Aid Kid, Děti mezi reprákama, Bratři Orffové, Floex). The joint improvisational project Mazoch & Libánský takes you into sonic landscapes where joy, drama, and melancholy blend over ambient and rhythmic textures. Together they released a recording of an improvised set, Session SH01, in 2024. More all events festivals Spectaculare_13 5. 3. 2026—10. 4. 2026
