The country's famed Easter market. Producers, craftsmen and sellers offer traditional Easter products and gifts at dozens of decorated stalls. Decorated egg (kraslice) is the most recognizable symbol of Czech Easter presenting many decorating techniques & skills. Dyed eggs get decorated by beeswax, straw, flowers, leaves or lace batik, perforation, etching, even knitting or wire knotting. A birch tree with colourful egg and ribbon decorations is central to the market where afternoon shows will be presented, too. Folk music and dance ensembles from different regions of the Czech Republic and other countries will perform. Ceramic pots, mugs or bowls adorned with spring motifs such as flowers and baby animals, as well as table or home decorations will be on sale. Easter celebrations are linked to many traditional dishes. Enjoy popular Easter Bread (mazanec), Lamb Cake (beránek), Easter Stuffing (nádivka) as well as an array of delicious regional pastries.
