Communal Television

display

The exhibition explores the possibilities of collective action and shared imagination through the metaphor of Community Television—an alternative to both centralized and hyper-individualized forms of media communication. In dialogue with Peter Watkins’s film La Commune (Paris, 1871), it opens questions of media power, dialogue, and political agency in the past and present. The gallery space is transformed into a site of collective viewing, movement, and discussion, closer to a television studio or a clubhouse than a cinema. The second part of the exhibition, Anchan/Anna Daučíková’s Metabolism of Mirroring, updates Watkins’s approach through contemporary protests, emphasizing the necessity of collective learning, response, and action. The exhibition invites audiences to active participation and to rethinking the possibilities of shared political communication today.
