If you want to experience the true Christmas atmosphere, don't forget to visit Prague Castle. The Christmas program, prepared in cooperation with the Forman Brothers Theater, offers three stops and will also take you to two buildings that are normally inaccessible—the Chapel of the Holy Cross and the Mocker Houses. The journey begins on the terrace of the Prague Castle Riding Hall, where a magical forest of forty trees from Lány will grow. In the labyrinth, people will meet the shepherd of Bethlehem. In the decorated interiors of the Chapel of the Holy Cross, the Forman Brothers Theater will install a nativity scene with a manger. Creative workshops will be set up in Mocker’s houses, which have been unused for years, and will be open to the public in the afternoons. Every Sunday during Advent at 2 p.m., music will ring out from the Golden Gate in the Third Courtyard of Prague Castle. The Castle Guard and Czech Police Band will perform a Christmas program in front of St. Vitus Cathedral, followed by students from Prague’s elementary art schools.
