3 venues

The BOO International Film Festival was created by merging two international film festivals, ELBE DOCK and Young Film Fest, and its first edition will take place from November 3 to 9, 2025, in Prague. The screenings will feature a selection of films from the most prestigious film festivals (Cannes, Venice, Locarno, Clermont-Ferrand, Berlinale, Sundance, Toronto, Oscar nominations), but the festival will also give space to emerging talents. An important role will also be played by the industry program, focused on short films and audiovisual education.

The festival will offer a packed program at three venues—Kino Kavalírka, DOX Center for Contemporary Art, and MeetFactory. Audiences can look forward not only to film screenings, but also to a rich accompanying program that goes beyond the classic concept of a film festival. The program includes, for example, the Film & BOOze project, where audiences can enjoy a selection of the most daring short films, accompanied by themed drinks. Another attraction is the interactive film walk Cinema Walk. Together with the festival team, viewers will set off across the city’s nooks and crannies, where short film series will be projected onto the facades of houses, walls, and other objects. The city will thus be transformed into an open movie screen for a while, offering a completely different way of experiencing audiovisual media. The program also includes Sounds of Games — video games with live music, which combines film aesthetics with the gaming world and gives visitors the opportunity to watch stories unfold live right before their eyes. And there will also be Animated shorts for smallest ones and their parents, an original format in which the screening of short animated films is combined with live musical accompaniment.
