4 + 4 days in motion

The 4 + 4 Days in Motion Festival is one of the most prominent contemporary art events in Prague and will celebrate its 31st edition in 2026. The Místa činu (Crime Scenes) project continues at the Galaxie Cultural Station, connecting contemporary theater, dance, performance, multimedia art, and an exhibition program to offer an original perspective on themes resonating in today’s society. Visitors can look forward to new premieres, including the original production K sobě, as well as exhibitions, workshops, and site-specific projects that engage with the space of Jižní Město and involve audiences of all generations. The festival invites you to discover contemporary art in its most vibrant form, spanning genres, generations, and forms of expression.

You can look forward to the performance portion of the festival 4 + 4 Days in Motion / Crime Scenes this spring. It will begin with a prologue in April as part of the “Weekend Against Violence” project, which will continue in the fall. The spring section will present Language: no broblem by Palestinian artist Marah Haj Hussein, who explores language, identity, and power relations with humor, anger, and love through her family’s experiences with Palestinian Arabic and Hebrew. The second international premiere of the spring program will be Bounces, Bounces and Explodes in Your Face by Catalan artists Agnès Mateus and Quim Tarrida. This internationally acclaimed work bluntly condemns domestic violence against women and reveals how deeply rooted this problem is among us.
