19th edition of Saint John's celebrations on the Vltava River. NAVALIS is a commemoration of the best-known Czech saint and Prague native, Saint John of Nepomuk, patron of all people of the water. The festivities include a solemn mass in the Cathedral of St Vitus, St Wenceslas and St Adalbert, a procession from the Cathedral across Charles Bridge to Křižovnické Square, and a Baroque concert on the Vltava River.

During the Baroque period, this festival was one of the largest and most spectacular celebrations. Pilgrims from all corners of the country gathered to honor the memory of St. John of Nepomuk, but also to listen to music performed on the surface of the Vltava River and watch a fire show. There were many attractions to see. The tradition of Baroque celebrations was revived in 2009 with the renewal of the St. John’s Day celebrations.

The celebrations have a fixed program every year — a solemn mass in the Cathedral of St. Vitus, Wenceslas, and Adalbert, a procession from the cathedral across Charles Bridge to Křižovnické Square, and a Baroque concert on the water. Allegorically decorated boats have always been an integral part of the celebrations.
