Žižkov Theater of Jára Cimrman

The home theatre of the greatest Czech playwright, musician, inventor, detective, and athlete in one – Jára Cimrman. The quirky poetics of Ladislav Smoljak and Zdeněk Svěrák’s plays have won the hearts of a multitude of visitors across generations, many of whom gladly return to the theatre again and again. In addition to Cimrman, you can also see young actors and touring troupes from all over the country tread the theatre’s boards including English-speaking Cimrman English Theatre. The Cimrman English Theatre, have through their careful translations into English, made Cimrman accessible to non-Czechs.
