The threat of hatred, intolerance, and extremism remains alive and well. Our country has firsthand experience with two totalitarian regimes of hate - Nazism and Communism - and we never want to return to them. This is why the Bells of Memory project was created, through which we, the people of Prague, commemorate both living and deceased figures who fought against totalitarianism. We ring the Nicholas Bell at the St. Nicholas Municipal Bell Tower every week in their memory so that we never forget.
