The Literature Night 2024 will take place on September 18, 6—11 p. m. with the collaboration of Prague 1. Contemporary literature, non-traditional places, well-known faces: such is the Literature Night, which in attractive or normally inaccessible places introduces the general public to excerpts from the new work of European writers performed by well-known actors. The unique combination of an unusual place, a distinctive interpretation, and a literary text offers an extraordinary cultural experience and an opportunity to get acquainted with the thinking of contemporary European authors. The Literature Night has gained a firm place in the Czech cultural calendar and has become an integral part of it. At all locations, the readings will take place simultaneously at 30-minute intervals. The start times of the readings are the same at all locations: 18:00, 18:30, 19:00, 19:30, 20:00, 20:30, 21:00, 21:30, 22:00, 22:30. Thus, in one hour, one excerpt is read twice at each venue and two groups of spectators are exchanged. In several places the reading will be interpreted into the Czech sign language.
