The 16th Prague Quadriennale, the largest international showcase of scenography, performance design, and theatrical space, will take place from June 8 to 17 at the Prague Exhibition Grounds. Held every four years, it brings together artists, theorists, and students from dozens of countries around the world and offers a platform for presenting contemporary work and exchanging experiences. The Quadriennale program includes hundreds of exhibitions, installations, performances, workshops, and discussions, and bridges the worlds of theater, architecture, visual arts, and new technologies. The 2027 edition, which will also mark the 60th anniversary of the PQ, will focus on the theme of “absence and silence” as sources of inspiration for new scenographic visions. The main program of the Prague Quadrennial consists of several interconnected sections that combine exhibitions and live art. Exhibitions curated by participating countries and regions: Exhibition of Countries and Regions — the main competitive showcase, where individual countries present contemporary scenography and theater design. Student Exhibition — a presentation of the next generation of artists from art schools around the world. Curated program sections prepared by the PQ team: PQ 60 — a key element of the program will be an immersive installation focusing on the development of the PQ as a global platform for exchange and innovation in the field of scenography. PQ Performance — a program of live performances on stage and in public spaces. PQ Performance Space — exhibitions focused on theater architecture and performance spaces. PQ Talks — expert discussions, lectures, and meetings with artists. PQ Studio — workshops and educational programs for students and professionals. PQ Publication Cultures — projects dedicated to publications, research, and the sharing of knowledge about scenography. PQ Hive — activities for the general public, children, and families. More
