Homage to Gustav Klimt

Minoritenkloster Prag

Discover the world of one of the most prominent artists of the Vienna Secession through faithful reproductions of his most famous paintings, presented in their authentic size and colours. Gustav Klimt became renowned for his decorative paintings, symbolism, sensual portraits and, above all, his “Golden Period”, when he incorporated genuine gold leaf into his works.

The exhibition traces Klimt’s artistic journey from his early decorative works to the distinctive style that made him one of the key figures in Austrian art. It also explores his involvement in the Vienna Secession, his collaboration with other prominent artists, and his connections to the cultural life of Vienna at the time.

Klimt’s life was as colourful as his paintings. He never married, but his lifelong companion and close friend was the fashion designer Emilie Flöge. His work continues to fascinate audiences with its beauty, boldness and unmistakable ornamental style.

  • Coronation Hall | Daily 10:00 a.m.—6:00 p.m.
  • The exhibition is included in the standard admission fee.
