The Story of Prague Castle exhibition recounts the thousand-year history of the place where Czech statehood took shape, using original objects from the Prague Castle collections, stories of people who have worked here, and an interactive programme. The exhibition is divided into two main sections. The first section introduces important figures of Czech statehood, significant historical events, and the architectural evolution of the castle complex from prehistory to the 20th century. It includes models of the castle from various periods of its development and original objects from the castle’s collections, such as the funeral garments of Czech rulers and Renaissance glass. The second section unfolds through inspiring narratives that explore various themes in cultural history intimately connected to Prague Castle: the roles of Czech patrons, the significance of the church and the cathedral, burial practices, dining traditions, and more. This part also features original artefacts alongside detailed textual explanations to enrich the visitor’s experience. Visitors also have the opportunity to watch the film The Transformations of Prague Castle, offering a glimpse into the hidden corners of this vast thousand-year-old seat of many rulers. admission The exhibition is included in the price of admission for the “Prague Castle — Permanent Exhibitions” tour, i.e. Prague Castle Picture Gallery + Story of Prague Castle Exhibition + Mihulka Powder Tower (Castle Guard Exhibition) + Rosenberg Palace standard CZK 300 | concessions CZK 200 | family CZK 700 Admission fees in detail More
