Afterimage is the first solo exhibition of painter Michael Nosek (b. 1990), who has gained recognition in recent years for his expressive embroidered masks. At Bold Gallery Nosek presents recent works that straddle the precarious border between painting and drawing, abstraction and imagery, tension and calm. The title Afterimage can be understood as the memory of the eye—a luminous imprint that persists after the stimulus has disappeared.
