Luboš Tomíček Memorial is the second oldest speedway race in the Czech Republic. Its tradition was started in 1969 in honor of the famous Czechoslovak speedway representative Luboš Tomíček, who succumbed to injuries sustained in a fall on the track and a subsequent collision with other competitors during the Golden Helmet in 1968. The Luboš Tomíček Memorial is traditionally held the day after the Golden Helmet in Pardubice. This race is one of the most important sporting events in Prague.
