The Office of the Government of the Czech Republic will open the Hrzán Palace to the public this year. This historic building, located on Loretánská Street in the Hradčany district, offers not only splendid interiors but also a unique view over the panorama of Malá Strana. Visitors can also admire the recently restored historical tapestry Verdura with Herons from the second half of the 17th century. The palace is closely connected to many prominent figures of Czech history, including master builder Petr Parléř and Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, the first president of Czechoslovakia. Throughout its history, Hrzán Palace served as a residence for influential noble families, as the provostry of the St. Vitus Chapter, and later as an art studio for a renowned painting school. Among the notable artists who worked here was Jan Slavíček, who created several of his masterpieces within its walls.
