On Tuesday, 14 October 2025, at 2:30 p.m., the renowned Wuppertaler Kurrende will perform a concert at Prague’s Church of Our Lady before Týn. Founded over 100 years ago in the tradition of the great Saxon boys’ choirs, the ensemble today reaches thousands of listeners each year through up to 60 performances across Germany. Under the direction of Lukas Baumann, the Wuppertaler Kurrende’s concert choir presents demanding sacred choral music from several centuries, with a focus on Romantic works. The program features pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, and Günter Raphael, as well as spirituals and intricate male-chorus arrangements. Church music director Jens-Peter Enk provides exhilarating organ interludes, offering the singers brief respites during the performance.
